So hold me close honey say you're forever mine. And tell me you'll be my lonely valentine
February 26, 2012
Follow me, everything is all right.

Could you take my picture? Cause I won't remember
February 18, 2012
This is my confession, you can take time to listen or turn your back on me.
71. The morning of my 16th birthday, my mom and I got into a pretty large fight (which was unfortunately all too common at that point in time) This one was apparently pretty bad, because she canceled my birthday. So all day at school, when people would wish me "Happy Birthday", I'd respond with "It's not my birthday. My mom canceled it." I was kind of a brat :-/
72. One of my biggest annoyances with Twitter is people who constantly try to get attention from celebrities. People get entirely too excited about it. (However, I totally nerd out when I talk to other bloggers. Wanna chat? I'll get all nerdy about you too!)
73. When I went to Wisconsin a few summers ago, I met this guy while I was out exploring (it was a super small town and I was by myself-sounds way sketchier than it was though). Everything closed around 9pm, but I was hungry so he called up a friend of his who owned a local restaurant and he came and made us dinner after hours. It was super sweet and we had a lot of fun.
74. When I was in high school, I could leg press 350 lbs on a regular basis. I think I maxed out at 375. The football players and I used to have contests haha
75. I don't have a favorite color. I can never decide which one I like the best.
76. I'm
77. Along those same lines, I have a few grammar pet peeves, but the worst is when people use "seen" instead of "saw" (ie "Oh, yea. I seen you over there") . I'm not sure if it's a Michigan thing or what, but UGH! It drives me crazy!
78. I dislike beaches. Don't get me wrong, I'll go if I'm in the area, but it's usually just not my idea of fun. Swimming just isn't my thing, I suppose (read the last confession, you'll find out why lol)
79.I love to gamble. A few friends of mine used to all live together and would stay up till 4 or 5 in the morning playing poker. I always get in on any sort of sports betting at the office or fantasy-whatever (I even won my fantasy football this year! Take that, boys!) and even playing slots at the casino-whatever it is, I love it lol
80. Napping is one of my favorite past times. I know that makes me sound lazy, but let me just say I don't nap all that often. But when I get the chance...there really are few things better haha
Do you guys have any confessions on this fine Sunday?

We gonna come together, we gonna celebrate, we gonna gather round, like it's your birthday.
After I got out of my internship, I ran over to my friends house so we could start setting everything up-ie lots of food!
I brought some pimento cheese (aka "crack cheese") and made vegan chocolate fondue-yum! We made lots of yummy food including empanadas, spinach pies, buffalo tofu bites and so much more-I just kept eating because it was all so good!
My friend also surprised me with a gluten free cake! So sweet!
I still have some left and I've been eating it all week hehe
I was having too much fun at the actual party to take pictures, but it was basically a repeat of the ugly sweater party (minus the Christmas decor haha)

One thing's for certain, the devil's a person. Met him at the riverside Perkins, bedsheets for curtains.
Me: Um... ok.... what is it?
Dad: Craig Finn is playing a solo show in Detroit
Me: Oh! Oh! I wanna go!
Dad: Uh-huh...
Me: Are you sure I can't go by myself?
Dad: *rolls eyes*
The show was at PJ's Lager house which is in the Corktown part of the city, kinda by old Tiger Stadium. I had never been there, but was kinda surprised by how small it was once we got inside. It reminded me of an old record store I used to go to with my dad in high school-really intimate and kinda old lol
I didn't expect there to be an opening band, but there was-they were called Mount Moriah. They were like a folk-y/roots rock type-chill but good. The girls voice was beautiful-my friend Katie (who went with me) and I both decided she should just go solo lol
It was about this time that my feet started to go numb. Why do I torture myself and wear my new shoes places where I'm going to be standing, uninterrupted, for about 5 hours? I'm a sadist apparently haha
Luckily, the wait and the pain were worth it. I had seen The Hold Steady (who Craig Finn fronts) a few years ago so I knew he put on a good show and I was not disappointed in the least. Lots of talking and joking and good music-can't really ask for much more.

She's the kind of a girl you can't get enough of.
But Hanson...well, that was a much different story. I was completely, utterly, hopelessly in love with them (Zak in particular *swoon*).
In fact, I still listen to them occasionally...don't judge haha
So a few years ago, when I heard that Taylor (aka the middle one who kinda looked like a girl had started a band with a few of my favorites from other bands, I was soooo there.
The band is called Tinted Windows and besides Taylor, there is Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins). Can you really go wrong with that line-up? No, no you can't.
They do power pop, and they do it well. This is probably one of my favorite songs off of their debut album...
(Cause I'm totally going to...
Well, everything except the last verse haha)

Must I paint you a picture? About the way that I feel?
February 10, 2012
Paint me a picture and hang it on your wall.
A few weeks ago, a friend was looking through the pictures on my phone and noticed the distinct lack of pictures of me-it's al just pictures of my stuff. He asked me why and I told him I always thought I looked awkward in pictures. He just rolled his eyes, and
So, I thought I should probably start getting over my fear of pictures of myself. And no better time to start than now! So here we go...
(If you want to check out the other entries and link up yourself, go check out the Paper Mama's blog!)
Obsessing over…
All the things I have to do... work, school, friends, boy... homework, concert, party, eyebrow wax. So much to get done. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
Working on…
My actual work-inputting orders, taking care of customers, answering questions. I've had a few breaks throughout the day, which has been nice, and the day has flown by.
Thinking about…
Honestly, a whole boat load of inconsequential things-what dress should I wear to my party? What should my nails look like? Should I do some Valentine's nail art? I want to wear my new shoes. I wonder if I can wear them for my Valentine's date.
Anticipating…
This spring. Baseball is back, I'm seeing a bunch of awesome concerts, school will be done before I know it. And maybe a boy...
Listening to…
Gaslight Anthem radio on Spotify, which is right now playing Springsteen "Streets of Philadelphia". This is my second favorite station, right behind Drive By Truckers
Eating…
Just finished some rice cakes and an organic fruit peel. And drinking water...lots and lots of water.
Wishing…
That all the fun things I have coming up would hurry up and get here-I hate wishing time away, but man, do I have some fun in my future.

The clock's running down The team's losing ground
I was having a hard time coming up with what I was going to do for this one, but when I was watching SportsCenter this morning, I had a stroke of genius haha
So here's the three pro athletes I'd like to Eff.Marry.Kill!
Dude's a monster. There's really no other way to put it. And even though he used to be kind of awkward looking when he played college ball, those NBA workouts have been good to him
Marry-Joel Zumaya
I've always maintained that him and I were basically perfect for each other-he likes baseball, I like baseball. He likes Guitar Hero, I like Guitar Hero. That's pretty much where the similarities end, but I'm pretty sure we're a match made in heaven lol
Kill-Tom Brady
(PS-Have ya'll seen this photo? Cracks me up every time!)
I know this is probably an unpopular choice, but he just bugs me. Ever since he played at U-M, he just kind of struck me as a d-bag. And that Beiber hair he was sporting for a while there did him no favors.
Who would you Eff.Marry.Kill?
Go link up with The Vintage Apple and Blonde, Undercover Blonde to share yours!

They say it's your birthday. We're gonna have a good time.
But the meal that I had on my birthday was so good, I just had to share. We went to the Roadhouse, which I had been to a few times before, but the food we had this time was the best I've had there-everything was sooooo good!
Our server was super sweet and everyone we came in contact with was amazing. It definitely made the whole experience that much better.Sweet table decorations-I have an unhealthy obsession with balloons lol They are still living in my apartment :-)
We started out with mussels which were in a white wine and garlic sauce. Um...yum! I hadn't seen these on the menu before and I'm so glad we were able to try them. They were one of my favorite parts of the meal. I could've eaten just these and been a happy girl!
Our waitress brought us out a sample of the Pimento cheese and told us all about how good it was. We, of course, already knew but didn't have the heart to tell her we had just bought a quart of it earlier in the day haha
Another server had noticed we were done with the mussels, but still had lots of the delicious suace left, so he brought is out some bread to dip in it. Oh.My.God. I can't even describe how good it was-we just kept eating and eating it! We were almost stuffed and hadn't even ordered our entrees yet!
While we
My parents-they always look like this! My mom has a big grin and my dad...looks like that haha
I couldn't take a decent picture to save my life that night (or so I thought lol) So my brother and I settled on the "Steve Colbert"...
And the reverse...
I'm sure the people at the next table didn't know what to think haha Then our food came and all thoughts of pictures went out the window....
They specialize in "really good, American food" and that is exactly what we got! I had a BBQ sampler basically-four different kinds of meat with four different kids of sauce. So good and so much food! I got three meals out of it! My brother had fried chicken and we split a side of their famous mac and cheese (no really, it was on the Food Network!). My mom had seared sea scallops and my dad had gumbo-it was all delicious. I'm pretty sure if it was socially acceptable to lick our plates, we would have lol
Even though we were stuffed we weren't going to say no to dessert....
Yes, that's a doughnut with ice cream on top.... A homemade doughnut sundae.
We also got butterscotch pudding, which has sea salt sprinkled on top. My brother named it "God's caramelized salted sugar bowl." And, no, I don't think that an exaggeration-it was that good. It was light and creamy and deliciously buttery. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
After all of that we were all sufficiently stuffed. I went to bed pretty much immediately after I got home. Food coma = birthday success.
