Every single one of us, the devil inside.

Every year, even though I want January to be a month of rest and catching up, it seems like I'm just as busy as December some days! But it's all good stuff, so I can complain too much :-)

A lot of the busy-ness involves catching up with friends who I hadn't been able to see during the holidays-even some of my co-workers lol

So last night, my friend Katie and I went to grab some Chinese food and a movie. The food-delicious, the movie-not so much haha

We saw The Devil Inside....and it was decent at best.

I probably would have like it a lot more if there hadn't been so many distractions! I apparently forgot what its like to be at the movies with a theater full of high schoolers on a Friday night. Never. Again. will I make that mistake lol

After work on Saturday, I headed over to my parents to watch the Lions play the Saints. Even though the game didn't turn out like I hoped, I'm still pretty happy with how the season ended up. The Lions have made a lot of progress and it's been really exciting to watch them this year. I'm a Lions fan-always have been, always will be- but it makes it a little a lot easier to say that when they are winning. For the first time in a long while, I'm actually looking forward to the next season.

I felt kind of bad last night-we play a playoff pool at work and I drew the Saints and now, since the Lions lost to them, I still have a chance of winning some cash money. So for the rest of the play offs it's.....

GEAUX SAINTS!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting?
Any other football fans out there?

So I'm gonna keep on living the way I live, doing the things that make me smile. Cause I never want to forget, these days.

Oh, my gosh. This week has just been ridiculous. Mostly good stuff, but, phew! Am I glad to be done with this week!

I said on Twitter that my life wouldn't feel nearly as busy if I didn't scehdule things around the Tigers and the Lions and it's so true! But with playoff baseball and the Lions hosting Monday Night Football, those were just events not to be missed! Unfortunately, the Tigers season ended last night, but it was fun while it lasted-I'm already excited for next season!

But at least we still have the Lions....(there's a sentence I never thought I'd say!)

Tuesday my mom and I took a cooking class at work. This was the third I've taken and the second with my mom. The class was all about gluten free baking and we both learned a ton of stuff! We got to take home lots of yummy things too!

brownies, foccacia, white bread, banana muffins

Wednesday was a day that I was dreading, to be completely honest. I had a lawsuit brought against me and Wednesday was out mediation. Luckily, we were able to settle, which means it's over and we don't have to appear in front of the judge. I really feel like God had a huge hand in that because we both were able to come to an agreement, and I was pretty convinced that was going to be impossible. I'm just so thankful for my friends and family for all their support-I really would have been a wreck without them! And for all of the wonderful people in blog land who have sent me prayers and good vibes-I couldn't have done it without each and everyone. Seriously, the support just brought me to tears. So blessed.

After that was done, I was able to spend some time decompressing with a friend before heading to babysit. Another thing I'm so thankful for is the kids my temple has brought into my life when I was teaching. Having them remember me when they see me and give me the biggest hugs is one of the best feelings in the world. Plus, getting to babysit a few of them and spend time with them is just such a joy in my life. Totally helps me put things in perspective!

I was trying to get tickets to see the Tigers on Thursday, but everyone had to work so I ended up working an entire 8 hour day on my day off-love when that happens, right? haha

Friday, I actually got to enjoy my day off-got my brows waxes, bought some new nail polish and...went on a date! It was the first one in entirely too long, and we ended up having a pretty good time. I'm not sure if he's my "type" but it was nice to be able to just enjoy the company of someone of the male variety for a few hours!

This coming week is going to be pretty busy as well, but luckily it's all fun things this time! Like I said, I'm just glad to be done with all the crazy-ness!

It's the eye of the tiger, its the thrill of the fight.

I'm a few days belated, but I just wanted to give a huge shout out to my boys for winning the AL Central!

I am seriously so happy-I'm so stoked to go to a play off game (my first!) and I'm so happy I was able to see so many games this year. It was seriously one of the best summers ever!

Also! The Lions have started out 2-0 since the first time in forever (not really, but it feels like that haha) It's sooo nice to wtach a game and know that we're not going to be on the wrong end of a blow out!

And the icing on the cake-I'm undefeated in my Fantasy Football league-is there anything more satisfying than beating a bunch of boys? No, no there is not lol

It's going to be an exciting fall in Detroit!

It was summerrtime in northern Michigan.

I know most people won't share this sentiment but...

I love my job.

A lot of people I know are constantly griping and complaining about this coworker or that boss, and while I have those days every once in a while, for the most part, I love pretty much everything about my job.

The office itself is relaxed and fun, my customers are 99.9% of the time easy to work with and my co-workers are some of the funniest, nicest people I know.

Case in point-my awesome boss. Who has season tickets to the Lions. And who likes to give me them when he can't go.

This past Friday, was the Lions first preseason game and since my boss had something to do that night, he gave them to me. Seriously, awesome.

Please ignore my awkward face lol

Before the game, I decided to do a Lions-inspired manicure (duh!), which involved using Ulta Blue Streak the perfect shade of Honolulu Blue and silver shatter that my friend got me because she knew I was having a rough week (how sweet, right?)

That afternoon, I picked up my friend and headed into the city. Kid Rock was playing that same night so we took our time and strolled through the crowds while doing some people watching. Since Kid Rock is from Romeo, MichiganDetroit, it's always a spectacle whenever he comes to town. This year he decided to throw a two-day block party in the parking lot of Comerica Park, where he was performing. I wanted to ride some rides, but we didn't have enough time. Hopefully when he comes back to town next summer, I'll be able to see him perform!

We made our way to Ford Field and found our seats. For being a preseason game and especially for being the Lions, there were a lot of people there. There's a lot of buzz surrounding this season, which is really exciting, considering I really don't remember the Lions ever having a winning tradition.
And from what I saw, there's plenty of reason to be excited. Satfford looked good in the three series he played, as did Calvin Johnson and Jason Tulloch. The real pride of the Lions right now is the defensive line and they did not disappoint. Ndamukong Suh made a few tackles and one sack, which was called for "unnecessary roughness" to which coach Schwartz replied "Well, when you are strong as him, it's just going to happen. He just can't help himself!" I don't know what I find that so funny, but it cracks me up lol

They ended up winning the game 34-3, and it got me really excited for the rest of the season.

When we left, the Kid Rock concert was still going on so we stopped and watched him play one of my faves (All Summer Long-such a great summer song) through the gates and when we were leaving he was playing Bawitaba, which is hands down my favorite Kid Rock song.

I may have even let out a little scream haha
