Got her toes done up with her fingernails matching

It's time for my new favorite link up again! Yay!

The Nail Files

Go link up with Fabulous but Evil or My Vikilicious Life to check out all the other fabulous entries!
For this one, I started off with OPI Funky Dunkey.

I love this color on it's own, but I wanted to try out a new polish that I recently picked up and I thought the two would look great together

And they did!

I used Finger Paints "Twisted". "Twisted" is a multi-colored flakie polish.
I loved this combo and couldn't stop staring at my nails when I was wearing it!

What do you guys think? What are you wearing on your nails?

Nails done, hair done, everything did.

Today I'm linking up with Fabulous but Evil for....

The Nail Files

I was so excited when I found out about this-I'm a little obsessed with nail polish! My collection is embarrassingly huge and I'm stoked to be able to show some of them off and see what everyone else is wearing too!

So this is what I wore this week...

Essie Mint Candy Apple
I used this tutorial by Kayla Shevonne to do a cherry blossom accent

What are you guys wearing on your nails?

Double, double, toil and trouble.

After the crazyness that was last week, it's kinda nice to relax and catch up on some sleep. Last Saturday, I was so exhausted by the time I got off of work, it took all the energy I had to stop, get some food and a movie before crashing.

I hadn't really heard of this one, but when there was a line starting to form at the Redbox and I got all anxious and picked the first one I saw haha Luckily, it ended up being pretty good. The story was good and Paul Giamatti and Jeffery Tambor were both great. It was sweet, funny and, at times, kind of sad, but if you're into movies like that, I would definitely recommend it.

The rest of the week I spent getting ready for Halloween.

I decorated a little bit.The window clings are supposed to be "bloody hand prints" haha

Did some nail art.
And carved some pumpkins!

My mom and I figured out we hadn't carved pumpkins in probably ten years and it was so fun!

On Friday, I grabbed some dinner with a few girls I work with and it was so fun to just to relax and laugh! I seriously have been so blessed with amazing co-workers that have turned into amazing friends-I just love those girls!

Tonight, I think I'm going to pass out some candy to the kids in my parents neighborhood and probably watch some Monday Night Football with my dad. Can't wait to see all the cuties in their costumes!

Happy Halloween everyone!

August 26, 2011

Today I don't feel like doing anything, I just wanna lay in my bed.

There's a lot I could have done yesterday.

I had bills to pay, calls to make, stuff for school to get in order.

But instead...

I caught up on my fave guidos adventures in Italia,

painted my nails,

and ate Chipotle with my brother.

And it was totally worth it.

P.S. I let my brother pick nail polish for me to use, since I was being indecisive and this is what he came up with:

Not too bad, eh?

He called them "Super Villain" nails haha

Oh love, such a silly game we play.

It's Wednesday again, so let's see what I'm loving today with this kind of love!

I'm loving my nails-which I painted with the help of an amazing tutorial from rebecca likes nails! I was amazed at how simple it was to do and my nails looked sooooo good!

I'm loving having today off! Unfortunately, it means I have to work tomorrow, but having a Wednesday off is a nice change of pace :-)

I'm loving this guy being back on tv.
Ami James from NY Ink

I won't be watching NY Ink all the time, but I'm definitely not complaining about seeing him in all the ads lately. Bald, tattooed and Israeli? Um, yes please.

I'm loving the fresh pita bread I had from a restaurant in Ann Arbor this week with my dinner. It was fresh out of the oven and omg delicious!

I'm loving Pinterest! I just joined last week and I'm slightly addicted!

Do you pin?

Follow me!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday!

June 1, 2011

Ooh yes, you will always be my endless love.

It's a beautiful Wednesday here, so let's see what I'm loving today! Check out this kind of love to link up!

I'm loving my Tigers! I got to go to a game on Memorial Day and always have a blast at the ball park, and it's even better when they win :-)

I'm loving getting in touch with old friends. My best friend from elementary school got in touch with me this weekend and we figured out he's only living about an hour away! I can't wait to get together with him and catch up!

I'm loving that my work was featured on The Food Network! Unfortnately, it won't let me embed the video but go check out Kid in a Candy Store on Youtube!

(Link- http://youtu.be/1m0zL_inKg8)

I'm loving that I picked up Essie Sand Tropez for 50% off at CVS this week! Woo hoo!
I'm loving the weather today-finally not scorching hot and not torrential rain. Still too warm to be considered spring but since it's June, I should probably get used to summer now haha

What are ya'll loving today?

May 1, 2011

Now I'm just gettin to know you, what you got for me?Tell me about your parents 'cause the fruit don't fall far from the tree.

Rebecca at rebecca likes nails was nominated for the...

and it is so appropriate and perfect for her! Her blog was one of the first nail blogs I started reading, and I love her blog and all her designs! They are all so cute and fun and I'm so jealous of how creative and talented she is!

At the end, she tagged anyone who was wearing glitter on their nails, and thanks to my new mani from last night-I am!

Proof!
(I don't know if you can tell but the blue is blue glitter-I swear!)

So I'm going to play along and post 10 random facts about myself-I'm not every good at this so bare with me!

1. I used to work in the pastry department at the bakery I'm at now. It's actually where I got my start at the business and I considered going to culinary school, but along the way realized I'm much more a people person than a food person-luckily for me, the job I have is a perfect mix of both!

2. I'm short. Like really, really short. I'm barely 5' even. My dad calls me a hobit and my brother (who is over 6' tall) likes to pick on me about it haha

3. Going along with that, since I'm so short, I LOVE HIGH HEELS! And to be honest, the higher the better. I have an exorbitant amount and no where very few places to wear them ha!

I would die for the Louboutins.
For realz.

4. Nail polish is my newest obsession. I bought 10 new polishes last week! I started to count my collection the other day and gave up when I got to 50 because I was a little ashamed lol

5. I'm not a huge fan of the beach. I'd rather go somewhere urban, like New York or Boston. I also fell in love with Vermont when I went there a few years ago. But if I had to go somewhere exotic for a vacation it would definitely be one of three places (Or all three if I'm lucky lol)...

Oh, hey. What's up Santorini, Greece?

I see you there, Italy.

You too, France!

Aren't they all so pretty? *sigh*

6. My "List of Things To Do Before I Die" include seeing a European soccer match (preferably in one of the above), visiting Israel, visiting every Major League Baseball park, and attend every major sport championship (Superbowl, World Series, NBA Championship, NHL Stanley Cup, etc), among other things.

7. My favorite animals are pandas, as I mentioned in here, but I have a soft spot in my heart for squirrels. If I could keep one as a pet, I totally would!

They are just so cute!

8. Five things I couldn't live with out are: cellphone, Ipod, gum, water bottle and a hair tie.

9. I'm a sucker for reality TV. It's bad. My co-workers call me "Snooki" and request I come in rocking the poof. And to be honest...

I always usually oblige.

and 10. I try to live by the philosophy that life is really to short to be anything but happy. I spent quite a bit of time being pessimistic and I'm trying hard to turn all that around and be a smiling, happy optimist! And so far, it's much easier (and way more enjoyable) to be happy :-)

So I think the rules are that you're supposed to tag people, but I'm not sure if anyone even read this, so if you do-go for it and let me know so I can read it :-)

April 27, 2011

'Cause I know what this is, this is what we talk about when we talk about love

Today is Wednesday so let's see what I'm loving with this kind of love!

I'm loving my job! Yesterday, I had to run some bread to a customer and they gave me some delicious clam chowder as a thank you...it was seriously yummy.

I'm loving my co-workers as well! My sweet friend Sider brought me two new nail polishes and Randy brought me a bunch of hoodies...They spoil me!

I'm loving the new Essie French Affair collection. Unfortunately, stores around here don't have it yet so I'll be ordering it online soon :-)

I'm loving being back in my own bed-even though I had a great time house sitting, it's nice to be back home :-)

I'm loving all the lovely green grass we have since it's been raining for 2 weeks straight haha

Hope ya'll are having a lovely Wednesday!

April 17, 2011

You can get tangled up in a ball of rubber bands and twine, the cowhide and pine tar, snuff, spit and chalk dust lines.

It's been a pretty crazy week here-usually we don't get too busy for Easter, but between that and Passover the phones at work have been off the hook! Add that to the end of the semester (which is actually relatively easy this time around!) and I've been a little crazy but it keeps me busy so I can't really complain :-)

A few weeks ago I asked my boss is I could have the 13th off (this past Wednesday) to go to the Tigers game if I found someone to go with me. He told me I could but I couldn't find anyone who had the day off and/or wanted to go with me! My heart was a little broken, to be honest :-(

At the gym Wednesday morning, I was talking to my mom and asked how she would feel if I went to Detroit by myself. I've been to the city more times than I can count, but always with someone. She said she didn't really see a problem with it, so at 8 am I called my boss and asked if I could work a half day-because he's the best boss ever he said yes and I bought my ticket!

I went in to work for a few hours and then headed to Detroit. It was seriously probably one of the best things I've ever done. I got my peanuts, headed into the ball park, got my scorecard and found my seat about 15 mins before first pitch. It was perfect.

The weather was pretty great too-58 degrees and sunny. It got a little hot but the breeze picked up in the second half of the game so that was great. The best part though was that they won! Come from behind-down 2-0 in the 7th, tied it at 2 all and then Brandon Inge hit a walk-off homer in the 9th :-)

The only bad thing was I walked away with a sunburn :-( Most of it has started to turn into a tan, but my nose is still red and I have a pretty bad burn on my chest-it's all red and angry looking lol It's been hurting all week but today it feels better so hopefully I won't have to go to the doctor or anything

On Thursday, I had my first Safety Committee meeting, where I got nominated to write the Safety Article for our monthly newsletter! I'm really looking forward to working on the committee-it seems like it's going to be fun!

After that I grabbed some ice cream with a friend (because I'm obsessed with dirt sundaes from Ice Cream Time right now...oops!) and then met up with some other friends to watch Survivor. I just started watching this season, so I'm super behind but can I just say Boston Rob is a d-bag? Also, Matt is super cute (even if he got voted off!)

I didn't really do much with my day off on Thursday so on Friday, I headed into Canton to go shopping. I didn't really find much (still searching for a new purse-ugh!) but I did find these at Target...And for all five it cost me $5! Love it!

I really wanted the green-ish one on the far left (the picture doesn't do it justice-on my fingers its a really gorgeous light mint green-I'm in love!) and the one in the middle, which looks nothing like it does in the picture. In the picture it's pink but in real life, it's a coral/orange/cream-sicle kind of color. I love them!

The rest of Friday involved watching All Worked Up with Dan, which is like Lizard Lick Towing but with other people too! I seriously can't get enough of it-it's replaced the hole Jersey Shore and Teen Mom have left haha

February 12, 2011

When I wake up, in my make up, it's too early for that dress.

Today, I'm trying something new and linking up to Kelly's Korner for "Show Us Your Life-Beauty Secrets"!

Let me preface by saying, it taken me quite a while to decide on the right combination of hair and beauty products. I have curly hair and have struggled with acne for a few years so it's taken a lot of trial and error. I used to buy only the most expensive products, thinking that those would do the trick. But at some point, I realized that a lot of the cheaper stuff works just as well and I don't have to break my bank account to look half way decent!

For hair, I have really fallen in love with:

TreSemme Flawless Curls. It one of the only thing that keeps its hold all day on my decently long and curly hair.

Sauve Hairspray. Because of my curls, I go through hairspray by the gallon it seems. This stuff has amazing hold, will last all day, and is the best for the price. I haven't find anything that really comes close to be honest.

Even though I wear my hair curly most days, I love my FHI straightener. This past summer, I broke down and bought a good (read: decently expensive) straightener and it was one of the best purchases I've made. My hair is is able to be transformed into stick straight locks (with the help of some hair oil, which is my life saver) and stays that way for a few days with only a few touch ups here and there. I love it, for realz.
As for make up, I do spend a little more money on this stuff because I adore Bare Minerals

I don't have anywhere near perfect skin, and this stuff covers pretty much any flaw and looks pretty natural while doing so.
My mascara and eye liner both come from the ULTA house brand. I've been really impressed with how reliable thier stuff is. The mascara offers great coverage and doesn't clump (I use the stuff in the orange tube) and the eye liner doesn't smudge too badly and comes in a really great range of colors (I have brown, sparkley brown and black, blue and green).

I rarely wear lipstick and usually just stick to my Burts Bee's.

I've been using it since middle school, so why stop now? haha

Those are pretty much all the things I use on a daily basis. I also have a decently large (and ever growing) collection of nail polish, along with way too much eye shadow to ever be used :-)

January 2, 2011

So this is the New Year and I have no resolutions, for self assigned penance, for problems with easy solutions

My New Year's was completely different than what I had imagined (and to be honest, kind of wanted...) but I'm so happy with the way it turned out! I ended up having about 10 or 15 people over to my place and we had such a great time! We played Apples to Apples which is the best game ever, watched some football and had a sparkling juice toast at midnight.
My day started at 6 am to work out then off to Meijer and Target for some last minute supplies. I got home about 11 and immeadiately started baking and doing some *much needed* laundry. (Seriously, during the holiday season I may have done 5 loads tops and four of those were probably my jeans).
While the cupcakes were baking, I worked on the dips. I made a Jalepeno Popper dip, a recipe from a friend at work, and a Garlic Feta dip, from my room mate. They were both sooo delicious! I'll definitely be keeping the recipes handy for more parties.
After the cupcakes were cooled, I decided to be adventurous and pipe the frosting on to them.

They look pretty good, huh?

My mother loaned me all sorts of serving dishes and decorations so I made a little table scape.

I was really happy with how it turned out :-)

But I think the best part was watching all of this:

Turn into this:

All in all, it looks pretty darn good, I think!

I was pretty much in the kitchen from 11 am till 4:30 and then finished up cleaning shortly there after. I did get to give myself a nice New Years Manicure though:

(I know it looks like I have some sort of deformed foot, but oh well)

I got two new polishes from the Sonia Kashuk at Target line. The base is silver-it almost looks like tin foil on my nails! The top is black and it has some silver sparkles in it that are kind of hard to see.

Last weekend my mom's brother and his family were in town. It was bearable at best, but we did get to see True Grit, which I really, really liked. Besides seeing the movie with them, I didn't see them too much. I had to work and stuff and they were only here a few days. I know my mom was pretty happy they were here though.

My January 1, 2011 was spent working and following the Michigan and Michigan State games on ESPN.com. After work, I jetted home, packed up mom's stuff to bring back and went over to watch the Winter Classic with my dad. The Capitals ended up beating the Penguins 3-1. I fell asleep before the end (I'm old! :-( I was so exhausted and I was in bed before 2!). I ended up falling asleep in the guest room haha

Also, we've had a pretty crazy winter so far. We've only had one snowstorm, which was more like an ice storm. We had about 6inches from that, so it wasn't too bad at all. Then, n Dec. 31st, it rained and all the snow melted!

So weird!

It's snowing a bit now, but nothing's sticking. I just can't believe it's December and we have basically no snow on the ground.

To sum it up, it was a pretty good NYE/NYD. I wish I would've been at home watching football, instead of at work, but besides that everything was A+!
