Now, in history only seventeen have thrown a perfect game. A most exclusive club and a most exhalted fame.

If we add Harvey Haddix, we should totally add Armando Gallaraga. Ha :-)

Went and saw the Tigers kick some "Royal" ass last night (get it? Kansas City? Royals? Lame, I know, but humor me!) 12-3, with a 7 run 6th inning. Plus we were 6 rows from the field. So cool! I never realize how big the players are, until I see them that close up.

And, let me tell you, Miguel Cabrera looks every part of his 6'4", 240 lbs. He's a big boy.

Dad got a pair of tickets from an old co worker so we got to get in early to see some batting practice because he's a season ticket holder. Dad let me use his glove, which I kindly pointed out to him, I didn't know *how* to use. I was a soccer and tennis girl, never softball. So he wore the glove for BP and I wore it during the game, during which nothing came to us. But...

We were standing in right field waiting for some lefties to come up and hit something out our way. It was just us and one other guy in that area and we had like 5 minutes before the a gates open and everyone else came in. The guy standing by us suggested we trade off, so if he got 2 balls, he'd give us one, if we got 2 we'd give him one, etc.

And sure enough 30 seconds later, a ball came right at us. We didn't catch it, but the guy grabbed it and threw it to me. A few seconds later another one came to us and we gave it to him.

Right then, the gates opened and everyone else was let in.

So we left and got our hot dogs and waited for the game to start :-)
My first MLB baseball-Tigers vs. KC Royals 8/23/10

(Through process of elimination, we decided it was Alex Avila...so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)
