Now, in history only seventeen have thrown a perfect game. A most exclusive club and a most exhalted fame.

If we add Harvey Haddix, we should totally add Armando Gallaraga. Ha :-)

Went and saw the Tigers kick some "Royal" ass last night (get it? Kansas City? Royals? Lame, I know, but humor me!) 12-3, with a 7 run 6th inning. Plus we were 6 rows from the field. So cool! I never realize how big the players are, until I see them that close up.

And, let me tell you, Miguel Cabrera looks every part of his 6'4", 240 lbs. He's a big boy.

Dad got a pair of tickets from an old co worker so we got to get in early to see some batting practice because he's a season ticket holder. Dad let me use his glove, which I kindly pointed out to him, I didn't know *how* to use. I was a soccer and tennis girl, never softball. So he wore the glove for BP and I wore it during the game, during which nothing came to us. But...

We were standing in right field waiting for some lefties to come up and hit something out our way. It was just us and one other guy in that area and we had like 5 minutes before the a gates open and everyone else came in. The guy standing by us suggested we trade off, so if he got 2 balls, he'd give us one, if we got 2 we'd give him one, etc.

And sure enough 30 seconds later, a ball came right at us. We didn't catch it, but the guy grabbed it and threw it to me. A few seconds later another one came to us and we gave it to him.

Right then, the gates opened and everyone else was let in.

So we left and got our hot dogs and waited for the game to start :-)
My first MLB baseball-Tigers vs. KC Royals 8/23/10

(Through process of elimination, we decided it was Alex Avila...so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)

Everybody hit the ground. I think I might have missed my calling.

It's been a few weeks...A lot has gone on that I wanted to write about (like spending a whole day shopping with my mom and not arguing or going to see the Tigers *lose again* with my brother) but I never got around to writing about it all. Always wanted to but I guess I get sidetracked too easily :-)

I've been on a few dates-neither of them really worked out. I'm not too worried about it, I suppose. I'm starting to miss the "idea" of a boyfriend, more than I am my ex so I think that's a good sign. Although there's still days, which sucks more than I imagined, but for whatever reason I'm supposed to be feeling these feelings and all I can do is walk through them. Thank God I have friends to carry me and help me because I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it without them. I spent pretty much the whole drive out to my friend E$'s house crying my eyes out, but as soon as I get there, of course she put a smile on my face and it completely changed my day.

The apartment/house is coming along nicely. Everything I bought looks a-dor-able together! I'm making the lampshade tonight/tomorrow and I'm so excited to see what it looks like all finished! Aside from all the small stuff to go in the room, I bought a mattress. I'm officially an adult now! No one else seems to think it was that big of a deal, but I seriously had a panic attack haha

Good news-Dad got a job! Yay!

Bad news-I have a muscle spasm in my neck, which my dad seems to think is caused by stress. No bueno.

I suppose that's all. It's going to be a busy week or two. Moving, painting, need to figure stuff out with school (I'm a horrible procrastinator!). Semester hasn't even started and I'm already ready for it to be done :-)
